Precipitated Calcium Carbonate Plant Glatfelter - Spring Grove, Pennsylvania
Baisch designed a Greenfield 125 TPD PCC Plant for PH Glatfelter at their Spring Grove plant in Pennsylvania. Recovery boiler stack gas was used as the source of carbon dioxide. Baisch scope included site integration, process building, mass/heat balance, P&IDs, General Arrangements, equipment specifications, and electrical / process controls.
Baisch developed a way to deal with the high thermal load caused by cooling of the stack gas, which had to be cooled to below the dew point. The Baisch system design minimized the impact of the new plant on the mill's water consumption.
